Female Makers networking-lunch

June 3, 2024

Over 40 women discussed the promotion of diversity in business at the networking lunch hosted by TE Connectivity and the Economic Promotion Canton of Schaffhausen.

Since 2011, TE Connectivity has been based in the city of Schaffhausen. Over 100 employees work here. They are part of a globally operating company with a global corporate culture, yet are locally rooted in the region. An essential part of TE Connectivity's corporate culture is the promotion of employee interests and diversity. To this end, various groups have been organized worldwide. Under the name "WIN Chapter," a group of employees organizes activities and events to strengthen team diversity, particularly focusing on the role of women in the company. "For TE Connectivity, promoting diversity and creating a positive, inclusive work environment is central. To improve in this area, we as the WIN group (Women + Men in Networking) organize lectures and opportunities for exchange for our employees in Switzerland," explains Laura Sager, Senior Counsel IP and leader of the WIN group in Switzerland.

At the end of May, TE Connectivity hosted a networking lunch where the company presented its own activities and engaged in discussions with representatives from other companies. Over 40 women accepted the invitation from TE and the "Female Makers" initiative of the Economic Promotion Canton of Schaffhausen. Together, they discussed insights and needs for achieving greater diversity in companies. The female leaders from various Schaffhausen companies agreed: for business success and a thriving location, more women and more diversity are needed at all leadership levels.
