Water technology provider Xylem further grows HQ in Schaffhausen
Xylem is a global water technology provider which helps customers solve water through the power of technology and expertise. In 2011, Xylem set up its European HQ in Schaffhausen and the office has since grown to approximately 80 staff. The city is set to remain a hub as the business continues to grow.

European HQ in Schaffhausen
Xylem‘s European HQ has been located in Schaffhausen since 2011 and the decision to establish its base in the Swiss canton was not down to chance: «We evaluated Schaffhausen as a potential location for our business in great detail and compared it with other cantons», Yarkadas highlights. He notes that the fact that it’s a stone’s throw from Zurich’s airport, the quality of life it offers, as well as the support provided by the Economic Promotion Team, made it an easy decision: «Schaffhausen’s Economic Promotion Team really got behind us and provided excellent advice as we planned our move to the area».
Almost a decade after establishing its European HQ, Xylem remains in close contact with the Economic Promotion Team and has also developed strong links with the authorities of the Canton of Schaffhausen. «We are really grateful for all the support provided to us throughout the years», Yarkadas comments.

Key role in the European marketplace
Xylem’s European HQ moved into new premises in 2014 and now occupies four floors in the state-of-the-art Urbahn development. The premises are light and airy with a colour scheme unifying spaces and creating a modern workplace environment. That’s seen as incredibly important as all the business functions accommodated in Schaffhausen play a major role in the company’s success: «Whether it’s Human Resources, Supply Chain, Marketing or Finance, all the key disciplines and management staff serving the European market are here, under one roof», Yarkadas outlines.
