Maker Adrian

Adrian Brugger is what you call a maker. As the organizer of the legendary music festival "Stars in Town", he lterally brings the biggest (music) stars to the city.

In Schaffhausen, the cultural creator and managing director of "Konzeptbude," Adrian Brugger, has found his happiness. Originally from the Zurich Oberland, he was struck by Cupid's arrow 30 years ago. "First, I fell in love with the woman, and then immediately with Schaffhausen," says Adrian Brugger today with a laugh. "Schaffhausen is one of the most beautiful places in Switzerland or me - a small city with extremely high quality of life."

Family city Schaffhausen

For Adrian Brugger, it is the perfect place to live, especially for families: compact, surrounded by plenty of nature, and with a diverse cultural and sports offering. He is happy that his three now-adult children had the opportunity to grow up here. If he had to describe "his city" in three words, they would be "family-oriented," "peaceful," and "charming." The heart and lifeblood of Schaffhausen? For Adrian Brugger, it's the Rhine. He cannot imagine Schaffhausen without the Rhine. "The Rhine is the most important element for me, and I especially enjoy it in the summer."

«Star in Town» - A music festival with big names

From the "Rhykantine" and new ideas

Adrian Brugger is a bold visionary and widely known as the organizer of the "Stars in Town" music festival. With stars like Simply Red, Die Toten Hosen, Rita Ora, Jan Delay, Snow Patrol, and James Blunt, the biggest names now perform in Schaffhausen. "Stars in Town has evolved over the years from a sailing ship into a supertanker," says Adrian Brugger. "We now have five employees who work on this project year-round." A key factor in its success is definitely the location at Schaffhausen's Herrenacker. For Adrian Brugger, it's one of the three most beautiful spots in Switzerland, loved by the stars for its intimate atmosphere and unique backdrop. "The square, with its slightly sloping terrain and colorful old town houses, is simply charming," says Brugger.

In addition to his flagship event, Adrian Brugger is also the initiator of the culinary pop-up Rhykantine. The temporary platform, located directly on the Rhine, has become a popular meeting spot during the warmer months. But even for the future, one can be sure that Brugger has several projects up his sleeve, as he says: "Schaffhausen offers so many exciting places for events."

What Adrian Brugger finds interesting about Schaffhausen is its small-scale nature – of course, in a positive sense. One quickly gets to know people and can build a good network. "The people of Schaffhausen are naturally rather traditional," Brugger says with a wink. "But with a good idea and some persuasion, the city is definitely open to innovations." And in true Adrian Brugger style, the cultural entrepreneur wishes for his city to be "a little bolder and more daring" in the future.

Schaffhausen has allowed Adrian Brugger to combine his professional and family ambitions under one roof. And his future? Adrian Brugger sees it in the small city as well: "I want to grow old here healthily, so I can continue enjoying the Rhine for as long as possible." For Adrian Brugger, Schaffhausen is one of the most beautiful places in Switzerland. The compact small town, with its wide cultural and sports offerings, breathtaking nature, and the Rhine as a recreational area, is unique for him.
