Schaffhausens economic pioneers

Industrialization in Schaffhausen began in the middle of the 19th century wih the Rhine Falls Railway and the construction of the Moser Damm. It not only spawned major industrial companies, but also shaped a number of economic pioneers.

Their names included Ochsner, Rauchenbach, Moser and Fischer: economic pioneers who lived and worked in Schaffhausen aroung the time of industrialization at the beginning of the 19th century. With their pioneeting spirit, they have left their mark to this day.

"Pioniercast"

Under the name "Pioniercast", the economic history podcast deals with important personalities in Schaffhausen's economic history from the period of industrialization. The stories are about well-known names and their important legacies and lesser-known movers and shakers who have left their mark on our everyday lives to this day.

In several episodes of Pioniercast, podcast producer Alex Blunschi and historian Matthias Wipf shed light on the exciting lives of economic pioneers in an entertaining way with historical depth. For example, about Jakob Ochsner from Oberhallau, who managed to revolutionize the waste management industry and became the name of a band.
